The short answer
Novig is legit. Since June 16, 2026 its exchange, Ludlow Exchange LLC, has been a designated contract market regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the same federal regulator that oversees futures exchanges. Trades clear through Bitnomial Clearinghouse, a CFTC-registered clearinghouse, on a fully collateralized basis.
It is open to users 21 and older in every U.S. state except Arizona, Michigan and Nevada. On October 9, 2026 the iPhone app held a 4.6 rating from about 5,700 ratings, and the Android app a 4.6 from about 1,510 reviews.
What legit does not mean: protection from losses. Event contracts can go to zero. Treat every deposit as money you can afford to lose.

How to tell a legit sports app from a scam
Run any app through four checks. Novig passes all four.
| Check | What to look for | Novig |
|---|---|---|
| Regulator | A named federal or state license you can verify | CFTC designated contract market (Ludlow Exchange LLC) |
| Where your money sits | A regulated clearing or custody structure, not just the company's account | Bitnomial Clearinghouse, fully collateralized |
| Real users | Thousands of ratings on the official stores, recent and mixed | 4.6 on the App Store (about 5,700) and Google Play (about 1,510) |
| Clear fees | A published fee formula you can check before you trade | Published in the Novig Help Center; pre-game straight trades pay no fee |
What the CFTC license protects, and what it doesn't
A designated contract market has to run fair, transparent markets and keep its books under federal rules. Clearing through a registered clearinghouse means the other side of your trade is guaranteed to settle. That is a real step up from offshore betting sites, which answer to nobody you can call.
The license does not guarantee you win, and it is not deposit insurance. If you buy a contract at 60 cents and the team loses, the contract pays nothing. Novig's own valuation, reported at about $2 billion in September 2026, changes nothing for your account either: what protects customer funds is the clearing structure, not the size of the company.
What users complain about
The praise in recent reviews is consistent: payouts that reach the bank quickly, prices with no built-in house margin, and a fast hand-off from the support bot to a person. The complaints cluster too:
- Android stability. Users report freezing and lag after updates.
- Bank linking. Some users had a bank link rejected by the payment processor.
- Withdrawal speed. Long-time members say withdrawals feel slower than in the old sweepstakes version.
None of these point to a scam. They are the normal friction of a fast-growing app. Read the newest one-star reviews before you deposit anyway, because they show what is breaking this week.
Fees, the welcome offer, and the fine print
Novig does not build a margin into its prices. Only the taker, the side that fills an existing order, pays a fee: coefficient × price × (1 − price) per contract. Pre-game straight trades pay nothing, most live trades use 0.03, futures 0.06, and parlays 0.10, built into the parlay price.
New members who verify their identity and make a first deposit of $10 or more get $50 in Trade Credits, issued as five $10 credits that expire after 30 days (verified October 22, 2026). Trade Credits are for trading, not cash you can withdraw. Full details are in our Novig review and on the Novig referral code page.
Who should skip Novig
- Anyone under 21, or anyone in Arizona, Michigan or Nevada.
- Anyone who would be chasing losses. If that sounds familiar, call 1-800-GAMBLER before you open any sports app.
- Anyone who wants a classic sportsbook with boosts and parlay insurance. Novig is an exchange: you trade against other users at market prices. Compare it with a licensed sportsbook in Novig vs Hard Rock Bet.
Frequently asked questions
Is Novig a legit app?
Yes. Novig's exchange, Ludlow Exchange LLC, is a CFTC-designated contract market since June 16, 2026, and trades clear through Bitnomial Clearinghouse. The app is rated 4.6 on both the App Store and Google Play (October 9, 2026).
Is Novig legal in my state?
Novig is open to users 21 and older in every U.S. state except Arizona, Michigan and Nevada.
Is my money safe on Novig?
Trades clear through a CFTC-registered clearinghouse on a fully collateralized basis, so the other side of your trade will settle. That is not deposit insurance, and it does not protect you from losing a trade.
Is Novig a sportsbook?
No. It is a sports prediction exchange: you buy yes/no contracts from other users and the exchange only matches orders. A sportsbook sets its own odds and is licensed state by state.
How does Novig make money?
From a small fee charged to the taker on most live trades, futures and parlays. Pre-game straight trades and posting your own price carry no fee.
